The Wildlife Center of Virginia is pleased to welcome Apex Clean Energy as a new corporate partner, supporting the Center’s work to care for wildlife and the environment.
Headquartered in Charlottesville, Apex develops, constructs, and operates clean energy projects across the country. The company also supports conservation, habitat restoration, and other efforts in the communities and landscapes where it works.
Through this new partnership, Apex is making a significant investment in the Wildlife Center’s mission and programs, including wildlife medicine, conservation, education, and the training of future wildlife professionals.
Each year, the Wildlife Center treats thousands of sick, injured, and orphaned wild animals from across Virginia. Many of these patients are admitted because of human activity, offering an important reminder of the ways our choices can affect wildlife and the places we share.
That connection between people, wildlife, and the environment is at the heart of the Center’s work. Caring for individual animals is an important part of our mission, but so is learning from those patients, sharing what we learn, and helping people understand how they can make a difference for wildlife.
The partnership with Apex will help support that work while also creating new opportunities for community engagement and for sharing stories about wildlife, conservation, and environmental stewardship.
“Apex and the Wildlife Center share an understanding that the choices we make today have a lasting impact on wildlife, people, and the places we share,” said Abby Slate, Director of Institutional Advancement. “We are grateful for Apex’s investment in our mission and excited about the opportunities this partnership creates to connect people with wildlife and conservation.”
“Virginia is fortunate to have an organization like the Wildlife Center,” said Carol Guy-Stapleton, Sustainability Lead at Apex Clean Energy. “Its work in wildlife medicine, education, and professional training reaches far beyond the thousands of animals that come through its doors. Apex is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Center’s community.”
We are grateful to Apex Clean Energy for its support and pleased to welcome the company to the Wildlife Center community.
