After five months of intensive care and rehabilitation, Bald Eagle #25-4133 has successfully returned to the wild! This adult Bald Eagle was rescued on November 18 after being injured in a fight with another eagle in Middlesex County.
Upon admission, veterinary staff found that the bird had significant head trauma, including multiple puncture wounds to the head and neck. The vet team had to perform more than 10 surgeries over the span of four months to repair the wounds.
By March, the eagle's wounds had fully healed, and our team started exercising her daily to rebuild her strength. On April 13, the eagle demonstrated that she was ready and was officially cleared for release!
This eagle was released at Belle Isle State Park on Wednesday, April 15, at 1:00 pm.
