Since 1982, the Wildlife Center has treated more than 95,000 wild animals, representing 200 species of native birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. We’re about to admit patient #100,000!
The staff have determined that patient #24-3450 – the three thousand, four hundred and fiftieth patient admitted this year – will be the 100,000th patient admitted in the Center’s 42-year history. With an average of 10-15 patients admitted daily within the past week, we will see our 100,000th patient very soon!
However, patient #100,000 won't receive a celebration on arrival. Instead, it will receive what every other patient gets: the very best care possible.
“Every patient that comes through our doors is here because they need help, and this patient will be no different,” said Dr. Olivia. “On admission, we'll perform an exam to evaluate the patient's condition and do our best to provide treatment and rehabilitative care. Hopefully, it will end with a second chance at life in the wild.”
