Thank you, Transporters!

It’s National Volunteer Appreciation Week!

This week, we’re highlighting our amazing volunteers at the Wildlife Center. Today, we’re focused on the Transporters!

Our volunteer transporters donate their time and gas money by driving. We often receive calls from members of the public who want to help an injured animal, but are unable to transport and/or capture the animal. Other times, transporters help us shuttle wild animals between the Center and other wildlife rehabilitators in other parts of the state. Our amazing transporters provide a vital service for both wildlife in need and the Wildlife Center.

Elizabeth Brooks, Office Manager: “When we have someone call in a panic about getting an animal to us, and they are unable to do that, I am so grateful that we have this network of volunteer transporters. They are a significant part of us fulfilling our mission statement to teach and care for wildlife.”

Lisa Klein, Relief Front Desk Coordinator: "Transporters SAVE LIVES!"

Many times, transporters don’t even get to see the wild animals they are helping – we’re thankful for these dedicated volunteers who help us so much!
